let's have a celebration

The hubs and I had a fantastic time celebrating my birthday on Friday.  Eric surprised me with dinner reservations at one of my favorite local restaurants, Ella Dining Room and Bar.  The wine was divine and the food was rich in flavor. We ate so much I was tired before my entree arrived.

Are you all wondering what the hubs got me for my birthday, besides an fantastic dinner???
Answer....THE iPad... Well, I won't actually get it until April 3rd.  I was shocked and beyond excited. With all that has been going on with Eric, I cannot believe he even made reservations for dinner let alone pre-order this baby. He really is so thoughtful and sweet!

Following the fun at Ella we headed home to finish off the night with a birthday celebration family style. My two little men were waiting to sing for me, open my gifts for me and most importantly eat cake. Jake, my oldest kept announcing Happy Birthday Mom, eat cake.

Saturday was a beautiful day here in Sunny California. There was a nice breeze so we decided to help our boys fly their first kite. It was not easy. 

We all got tangled up in the fun. I know the backyard is a bit blah, but we are in the works on making it a much better place.  I'll post our plans soon.

Sunday was spent weeding and mowing the lawn, a first for me.  My goal for 2010, accomplishing a lot of firsts.

It's Friday and I couldn't be more pleased. Did you know, today is my birthday.  The hubs has a surprised planned. I am to be ready at 5:45 pm, dressed warm yet nice and ready for a good time. I love surprises so I CANNOT wait!  I'll let you all know the fun had.

life goes on

This is a big week for my family.  My three year old Jake, starts soccer. I can't believe it!! Yesterday I was holding him in my arms and today, I can barely pick him up he's so big. My heart is a wee bit sad. I'll make sure to post some pics of him and his buddies trying to figure out how the game of soccer works. 

Before that though, the hubs and I are making a trip to the beautiful San Francisco.  Have you all visited?
We'll begin our journey with shop talk, actually the hubs will with some local clients. Once that is finished we're off to our hotel in the city. Where we'll I'll quickly throw our bags on the floor and promptly head out to the fabulous Union Street/Marina District, my go to place for shopping and eating while in the city.
We'll begin our shopping at Lululemon, since I am in dire need of their amazing groove pants and then go from there.  Although my real focus is enjoying the day with my husband, Eric.

Following our day of fun, will be a day of news. We are heading to the city to meet with my husbands Oncologists. The first meeting of the day is with Dr. N, the surgical oncologist, who I am forever indebted to for taking care of Eric.
Then we'll meet his oncologist, Dr. C, who will go over his chemotherapy and any other treatments that he recommends at this time.  We have a million questions to ask about his cancer and hope to learn a lot from this visit.
Every time I write that word cancer, I still cannot believe this is happening to us.  What a whirlwind this last month has been. I know it might be too much for some people to read about on my blog and I understand. My husband is my life and his strength and love inspires me everyday. To not share this part of my life would make my blog not real, at least for me.  If any of you partake on this journey with us, I hope you can find some inspiration. Even if it's just to laugh more or to live life in the now.

Seriously, I am confused. On yesterday's post I said it was tuesday. As for today, I didn't get the memo it was friday, thank goodness though. Clearly I need to regroup this weekend. We have family, the bro and sis in law along with my two adorable little nieces coming tonight. On Sunday, grandpa Dave is visiting which will bring mucho happiness to all my boys. The only day free is Saturday which means I will be heading out and shopping. On my needs list, glasses {the seeing kind} and beauty products. If I had a CM close by I might go and snatch up of some of the looks above.  Shopping makes me do the happy dance. Seriously, shopping make me happy and relax, crazy right?
