Sierra De Montserrat

Do you like to go on weekends and check out model homes?  I do, as does the hubs.  We haven't done it in awhile but I am thinking that we must get out soon, especially after finding this gorgeous estate online that's in our area.  You might be asking yourself, are they in the market for a home like this?  No, but a girl can dream, right?  The homes at Sierra De Montserrat are luxuriously appointed with high-end appliances and architectural detail.  The sprawling acreage is one of dreams and deep pockets out here in California.  Each home site is situated on 4.6 acres with vineyards as far as the eye can see coupled with a backdrop of the Sierra Foothills leaves one breathless with all of the natural beauty that surrounds this estate.  Without further ado I invite you to explore.....

The open dining room and formal living room.  Normally I am not a fan of these rooms but with the beamed ceiling, rich woods, curved accents I am in love with every detail.

The kitchen is nice and large.  What do you think of this kitchen, hit or miss?

Again, the beamed ceilings add so much detail as does the fireplace, large windows and deep wood floors.  Only negative are those useless accent curtains that all designers add to models, yuck!

This poker room is dignified and luxurious.  The square beamed ceiling, the built-in cabinets and those large open doors add so much character to this room.  The poker table with those nail head chairs up the masculine factor and make this room a true gentleman's retreat.

The hallway to the left is quite a site.  This bedroom is a good size and nice views.

The master bedroom is spacious and the tre ceilings makes it even more open.

The master retreat is a nice touch but I'd make it a home office or gym.

The master bath in marble is classic and elegant.

The pool, a must out here in California.

The sunset, what a site!

I hope you enjoyed the tour, I know I did.  If you want to see more of these homes visit the builder Westwood Homes here.  They built our house and we love it.

Next Friday I'll be back with Follow-up Friday.
Until then,  have a Happy & Safe Halloween my lovelies!

Blog Cabin 10

If you haven't already seen this beauty you are in for a treat.  Tonight while chatting with my mum she informed me about a blog cabin she entered to win on DIY Network/HGTV.  I was confused that I had not heard of it since the hubs and I are avid watchers of both networks.  House Hunters and Sarah are our personal faves on HGTV and Yard Crashers on DIY, although lately we DVR them so we can skip the commercials which could be why we missed this amazing giveaway.
This beautiful cabin was made over inside and out and I am amazed at the difference.  The cabin is located in Bethel, New York, the location of the famed Woodstock festival (a perfect fit for my hippie mom).  Good luck to all who entered especially my mum (I hope you win)!  Check out the blog here.

yellow

Whether it is bright or warm,  yellow adds so much to anyone space.
This spring yellow is my go to color for my home and wardrobe.
What color are you coveting this spring?

country chic

The guests arrive and head straight to the amazing kitchen.  As they take in the kitchen's beauty they notice the concrete counter tops, colorful barstools, modern lights and pops of colors.  As guests sip their wine everyone begins to float around the house.  They are stopped in their tracks when they spot the beautiful repurposed pine wood doors that lead to the cozy office.  They marvel at the couches comfort as they prop their feet on the truck held up by old fruit crates.  As they leave the office, they spot the colorful entryway bench and sit once again.  They can't help but wander into the impeccably useful and charming laundry room.  They reach the restroom and marvel at the stylish pendant lights.

This home brings the old and new together in perfect harmony.  A job well done!
