random

It's official; I am entering the random drawing to participate in the Nike Women's Marathon in San Francisco in October 2010.  Since it is a random drawing I have a chance of not getting in which is a bummer but I am full of hope.  My sis in law Rita said she'll consider doing it with me and I am hoping to get my buddies Laura and Jill on board as well.  Any fellow bloggers interested?  It's a good reason to visit San Francisco and see all of the beautiful sites.

When I ran this (actually the half marathon) back in October of 2008, unbeknownst to me while pregnant with Ryan, I was amazed at how many women came together for this event. It is truly inspiring.

Last night, I began my training at the gym.  I ran and walked for 40 minutes and almost puked while doing it, which I always find to be a good sign.  Weird, I know...
Today the boys and I are off again to the gym so this mama can run while her little kittens play.

On a different note, tomorrow we are having a family photo shoot, with our friend Mike of Mike Gellerman Photography.  We are having our pictures shot at Land Park in Sacramento, which is next to Fairytale Town and the Sacramento Zoo.  Following our mini photo shoot, we'll head over to one of these fun places.  
Much to the chagrin of others, my little men will be wearing matching outfits, yellow polo tops and jeans.  The hubs and I aren't sure what we'll wear...  Should we or should we not match?  Any recommendations?

The guests arrive and head straight to the amazing kitchen.  As they take in the kitchen's beauty they notice the concrete counter tops, colorful barstools, modern lights and pops of colors.  As guests sip their wine everyone begins to float around the house.  They are stopped in their tracks when they spot the beautiful repurposed pine wood doors that lead to the cozy office.  They marvel at the couches comfort as they prop their feet on the truck held up by old fruit crates.  As they leave the office, they spot the colorful entryway bench and sit once again.  They can't help but wander into the impeccably useful and charming laundry room.  They reach the restroom and marvel at the stylish pendant lights.

This home brings the old and new together in perfect harmony.  A job well done!

pillow talk

it's time

Last night the hubs and I stayed up way past our bedtime and discussed our backyard.  

Currently, our backyard is in a sad state.  The previous homeowners starting something but never finished so we have cracked unfinished concrete, weeds, dirt and bark lying around and looking pretty shabby.  We've done what we can to make it look somewhat decent but it is a serious work in progress.   

Last night, the hubs drew up beautiful plans which include a pool, stamped concrete,

 trees, plants, grass, patio covers and a too cool play center for the kids, all these combined will make for an amazing tropical retreat. 

Our initial budget doesn't allow for the above right now but we hope to begin the process shortly of ripping out the concrete and adding grass so the backyard is usable until we can make our 

dream a reality.

These are the days

Today, the hubs, is having another surgery - to put in his Medi-Port that will aide in administering his Chemotherapy treatments which begin next week.  I've written about his cancer here & here.  Sometimes, I feel as if this isn't our journey to be had because we are so young and not deserving of this but no one is and so it is. 

Eric is strong, full of hope and will which makes him unstoppable.  

As we forge on this unknown journey this song keeps playing in my head.
