Family fun

My brother loves JibJab and sends us videos a lot.  This one is rather funny and stars me, the hubs and the boys, so I thought I'd share.  Do you JibJab?

family time

We've been spending a lot of time with our family lately.  Two weekends ago we rented a cabin with some of them and got in much needed family time.  We talked, ate, drank and chilled in the hot tub.  Here are some snapshots of the cousins playing. Thanks to Auntie Mary who watched the kids so we could enjoy an afternoon together in the Villages at Northstar Ski Resort.  Eric and I shopped and ate while the others skied. A great trip indeed, more on it tomorrow.

Happy Monday friends.

Can you tell?

Can you tell which shoe is high & low in price?
If you guessed 1 as high and 2 as low then you are correct!
Shoe info
1.  Dolce Vita "Pela" Strappy Wedge Sandal - $159.00 via Bloomingdales
2.  Mossimo Pilar Strappy Wedge Sandals - $29.99 via Target

Which brings me to deals... Since it's Presidents weekend all the retailers are offering sales.  While I love a good deal, I am skipping the sales this weekend.  Are you off to the sales or shopping online?

So I have to share why my post is late today.  Well, last night the fam and I headed to San Francisco to have dinner with family.  Since we didn't arrive until 7pm we ate in.  I must say that eating-in in San Francisco isn't bad.  We had delicious Indian food.  My sweet sis-in-law purchased my favorite white wine of the moment Riva Ranch by Wente.  It is buttery and smooth.  If you like wine, try it.  After a splendid evening, the hubs and I and our two boys headed home.
First up for today was a play-date with my friend Jamie.  Since the boys and I slept in (sorry Eric you had to get up at 6 am) we had no time to eat at home so we headed over to Starbucks.  My drink of choice a skinny caramel macchiato, yummy.  Then the boys and I stopped off at my favorite cupcake shop, Icing on the Cupcake.  I had to bring Jamie and her family treats because they spoil us whenever we visit.  Of course I purchased extra cupcakes to take home for a treat.  After our fun we headed home to rest and rest we did.

Okay, back to these shoes, I am loving wedges.  They are my "right now" shoe.  I purchased shoe 2 a few weeks back and I feel tall and sassy in them.  Do you like?

Happy Weekend Loves!

Here you go

My creative juices have been flowing again and I am excited to have them back.  I have some kids projects in the works that I will post soon.  In decor news while the hubs continues to obsess about doing more to our backyard (that reveal post soon), I've been obsessing about decorating our home (something that never goes away).  Since I am not a professional decorator it is hard for me to put it all together which is why everything takes me so long.

I mentioned here & here about adding curtains to our dining room as well as here about other fabrics I would like to add to the rooms that adjoin the dining room.  The hubs and I have come to the conclusion that the amazing fabric - Raid in Smoke by Windsor Smith - will grace the gigantic windows in the dining room.
 The winner

It was between these two

Now my only dilemma is finding someone to make these really tall and wide curtains.  Tomorrow I am going to call Windsor Smith to see if they could make them and for not too much more for the cost of the fabric (crossing my fingers).  If they don't, do any of you have suggestions on how and where to get them made?

Now on to my next room, one of many rooms that I want to tackle - the powder bathroom downstairs.  My inspiration for the room is this beauty.

What do you think ( I do mean you too hubs)?  Are you for or against wallpaper in the bathroom.  Also, do you think the space is too dark?

Here's a peak on some other going on's around our home and in our life...

To finish this post is a video I made of my silly boy Jake discussing his auntie gracie.  Enjoy!

sassy sarah

Well my friends, things have been hectic, stressful really and my blog is being neglected due to this. I guess it's time to fess up with why..... The hubs is sick. Sick with what, we aren't sure. Two nights ago we spent the evening in the ER because I was freaking out with how bad it got for the hubs.
We've been to many specialists and no word yet on what is wrong. We go to another doc today, one we haven't seen before so we are hopeful. All prayers, well wishes, crossing your fingers are appreciated.

With things being so hard on the hubs I think we are due for a date night.
What do you think of this Sassy Outfit I created on Polyvore?

the big red

These remind me of being sick as a kid. For some reason they always made me feel better. Well, I am sick along with my hubs and two little men so I've been munching on my Luden's. Things are looking up for us which means I'll be back soon.

no way, it's already tuesday....

The fam and I had a great weekend.  I hope you did too.  The men worked on the courtyard on Saturday. The boys loved helping dad dig in the dirt to make way for the plants.
{The boys playing digging away}

While the men were hard at work I was being pampered with a haircut and color at my local salon, Hoshall's. It was blissful. I read loads of magazines, drank cucumber water (sooo refreshing) and relaxed in the serene setting.

On Sunday we spent quality time together.  First we started the morning off with......
{I heart my chalkboard}

I recently purchased The Pioneer Woman Cookbook and knew instantly I had to make the French Breakfast Puffs. They are yum! Next time, I am gonna make them as mini muffins so they'll be easier to gobble down. My husband kept saying how great they'd be with a chocolate dipping sauce. Although that would put these under a dessert vs. breakfast. No?

After breakfast we took a walk in our neighborhood and enjoyed the scenery, Folsom Lake. The lake is a bit low right now but she's sure to fill up come Summer time.

The boys loved seeing the horse. She was beautiful, friendly and made giant poops.
The boys were in awe of them.

The boys loved finding the different sticks and stones.
Jake would grab his binoculars to investigate the dirt, it was hilarious!

That's the dish for Tuesday, more to come this week!

Happy Birthday Jake!

My eldest son Jake is three years old today. This weekend we celebrated with a Thomas the Tank Engine themed birthday party on Saturday. Fun was had by all. Jake went around telling everyone that it was his Happy Birthday Day. It was so sweet.

Happy Birthday Jake via my my new chalkboard I made. More on that tomorrow.

It's Monday at 3:44 pm and I am still in my PJ's. At least my boys are dressed, right? Mondays are always my recovery day from the weekend. This weekend we had a great time.
Friday took it easy.
Saturday, a baby shower for Laura then a late night with friends.
Sunday, fun again with friends and a trip to Toys that Teach and the Old Spaghetti Factory.

get into the groove

We moved into our new house a few months ago and when I should have been rejoicing because my house is bigger, my kitchen is beautiful and the hubs office is outside in the casita. I instead got sad and overwhelmed. After too many months feeling this way, I have decided I need to forge ahead and be grateful for my everyday, my family and my friends because that is what matters most.
To get back into my groove there are some things I need to do.
1. get my booty back to the gym at least 4 days a week.
kids at playcenter = break for mommy & cardio = endorphins = happy me
2. making more time to blog. I don't know about you guys, but blogging brings me mucho happiness. I love the creativity, the community.
3. getting outside and enjoying the fresh air and skiing
4. embracing my creative side via here and here
5. finishing what I start
I know it sounds like a New Years list, maybe it is. Join me as I get into the groove.

Score

Happy Monday. My family and I had a fantastic weekend.
We worked hard in the backyard all day Saturday. Even Jake helped us out.

Then Saturday evening we had dinner at Cheesecake Factory with old friends.. Eric (hubbie left), Dave (old friend right).

Sunday, the boys and I visited two garage sales and found this fantastic chair for only $20 bucks. Tomorrow I'll post about the room redo it will go in once its been all dolled up with paint and new fabric.

Lastly our visit to Home Goods. Couldn't resist these lamps... Now it's a matter of what to do with them.

Last, my little guys love wearing their boots, so I had to include these pics.
