Recovered yet?

Did you all have a nice holiday? We had a very Merry Christmas.
Christmas Eve the boys played and played awaiting Santa's arrival the next day.

Santa was good to my little boys. My oldest, Jake was gifted with a Thomas the Tank Engine Bike, his first. Of course, I cried watching Jake's excited reaction. Really, he was excited although you can't tell by this picture.

Ryan was pooped after opening two presents so he went down for a nap and missed the majority of opening presents. Luckily, he didn't seem to mind a bit.
Grandma Leslie (my mom) made the boys the coolest Tee Pee. I'll post soon on how she did it.

Since Christmas, my house has become a disaster zone. All day today I have been trying to clean it in between my bouts of laziness. Yet it is still a mess. Hope to have things organized, washed and smelling lemony fresh by weeks end.

Check out our Christmas Snowball fight...
We teamed up with some magical elves near Santa's village and there was fun to be had.
Merry Christmas from our family to yours.

get into the groove

We moved into our new house a few months ago and when I should have been rejoicing because my house is bigger, my kitchen is beautiful and the hubs office is outside in the casita. I instead got sad and overwhelmed. After too many months feeling this way, I have decided I need to forge ahead and be grateful for my everyday, my family and my friends because that is what matters most.
To get back into my groove there are some things I need to do.
1. get my booty back to the gym at least 4 days a week.
kids at playcenter = break for mommy & cardio = endorphins = happy me
2. making more time to blog. I don't know about you guys, but blogging brings me mucho happiness. I love the creativity, the community.
3. getting outside and enjoying the fresh air and skiing
4. embracing my creative side via here and here
5. finishing what I start
I know it sounds like a New Years list, maybe it is. Join me as I get into the groove.

Black Friday

In my 33 years 23 years, I have never taken part of Black Friday. The shopping extravaganza the day after Thanksgiving. This year my sis in law is trying to get me to go but the 4am shopping start time sounds grueling. My head hurts just writing it out. I am thinking I'd rather be asleep at that time but kinda want to see what all the fuss if about. Do you all shop on Black Friday?
Happy Thanksgiving!

work in progress

When we moved in, our masterbedroom looked like this.

I wish I had a before photo of the main wall that our bed is on, but I can't find one. This photo is to emphasis the before colors.

We decided we should paint our masterbedroom Silver Sage by Restoration Hardware.

After the paint was up on the walls we realized that the cream ceiling was a no go. We decided Swiss Coffee (white), would be the ceiling color. I think it looks good.

To complete the space, we added crown molding.
Here are Dave and Paul installing it.

Room after with the crown molding. Angle I

Angle II

Here's a sneak peak at the end result, at least for today. There's Dot the Dog on his bed.

This room is a work in progress, so check back soon for more progress made.
Bye bye,
Sarah xoxo

Flying by

Wow, I don't know about you but today flew by. Which is a good and bad thing.
Lots got accomplished and lots got put to the side to finish another day.
I'll have to post tomorrow about my room redo that I am working on.
One thing I did do, since I promised my boys, was bake chocolate chip cookies. These aren't your ordinary chocolate chip cookies, they are Deceptively Delicious.  Check em out..

Picture from the book

All mixed together

Finished Product

I have to admit they were yummy even with oats and chickapeas aka garbanzo beans. Yummy enough that my husband Eric, couldn't get enough of them. If anyone wants the recipe but doesen't want to buy the book, let me know and I'll email it to you.
